At Maintain, we like to say we have a healthy marriage between organization and artistic mindsets. This allows us to plan some pretty killer photoshoots for our clients, because they’re extremely organized yet leave room for creativity to flourish. And we aren’t about keeping secrets here at Maintain. We want to share our wealth of knowledge with you. Read on to learn our photoshoot process that WORKS.

Pick a Pillar

First, establish what the goal of the photoshoot is. For Maintain there are four different pillars the photoshoot could fall under:

  1. Branding
  2. Social media
  3. Content Strategy
  4. Inbound Marketing Campaigns

Internal Brainstorming

Once we pick a pillar, we have an internal creative brainstorming meeting. In this meeting, we’ll bring our ideas based on industry knowledge and trends.

Present Photoshoot Idea to Client

After brainstorming, we have a meeting with our client to present our photoshoot idea and how it will work with the overall pillar it is within (ex: how the photos will work in the content strategy, social media grid, etc).

Get to Planning

If the client approves of the photoshoot idea, our team gets to planning internally! We make very detailed mood boards, pre-production sheets, and shoot guides all on Milanote.com.

  • Mood boards: This is where we consolidate visual ideas for the photoshoot. This can be example photos, descriptive words, colors, etc.
  • Pre-production board: This is for internal use only. We make a board that has pre-week and day-before checklists, gear lists, prop list, photo examples, and more to make sure we have everything ready to go day-of.
  • Shoot guide: This is to be shared and presented to the client. The shoot guide contains things like call times, wardrobe guides, shot lists, and contract information.

Internal Pre-Production Meeting

From there our team has an internal pre-production meeting the week before and day before to go over gear lists, timelines, shot lists, and day-of roles to set everyone up for success the day of the shoot.

Shoot Day!

Because of all the pre-production that was done, the shoot day should be nothing but successful and spectacular! Extra brownie points if you bring drinks, snacks, music, and an emergency kit (things included can be makeup for touch ups, lint roller, sunscreen, ect) day of.

Time to Edit

When it’s time to edit the photos, there should be no questions because the photo editor can always go back to the mood board and pre-production sheet to see the vibe we are wanting the photos to be. Then, we recommend using Zenith Clipping for editing your photos. Zenith Clipping is a professional ecommerce product photo editing service provider. We offer the best photo editing services. We are a well-reputed top-ranked image editing company in Bangladesh serving since 2010.

Present Photos to Client

Now’s the fun part – getting to present the photos to the client! We do this by sharing an online gallery with them through Pixieset.com. 99% of the time, our clients are ecstatic over the photos because they were looped in during the whole process so there are never any surprises. COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Keeping clients looped into processes makes them feel involved (which they are!) and they’re never blindsided.

Now it’s time to dance because everyone is happy!

Photoshoots take A LOT of planning, but it’s worth it knowing that the end result will successfully propel our client’s marketing forward. If you’d like to hear more about our photo and video shoot process, click here to fill out a form and we’ll get in touch.
