Why using video instead of photo was better for local lifestyle blogger
Let me tell you a little bit about one of our newest clients. She’s a super cool – super beautiful fellow mom who is both detail oriented AND laid back, sparkly AND sporty, aspirational AND down to earth. You get the point. This is her:
The brand she is building is all about continuing to travel, dream big, staycation, and vacation even after becoming a parent. She does not subscribe to the way of thinking that puts life on hold after having kiddos. Her vibrance and clear love of life has rubbed off on her family too. They LOVE to travel, try new foods, play sports, and even make some funny IG reels.

So, when we brought on Alex (that’s her name – go check her out @alex.metallo) and started mapping out her site, we wanted to portray that same sense of adventurous vibrance that she radiates in her day-to-day.

So, how do you do this? How do you make a website fun? How do you design a website that is unique? How do you tell a story through web development? Well, it’s really a combination of things – imagery, branding, storytelling through copy, and (drumroll please) VIDEO. VIDEO. VIDEO. VIDEO.

Video captures.

9

Video evokes feeling.

9

Video is honest (mostly 😉 ).

9

Video is just downright pretty.

9

Video is engaging.

9

Video is innovative.

So, we went to work strategically placing, video, gifs, and stop-motion throughout her site:
This will make her website unique and engaging to the fellow moms she is trying to build community with. They’ll be able to see a little piece of themselves in every page and Alex will be able to provide the value that she has so much of.
