Redemption for the day can be found in the simplest of activities. My redemption is bath time- where all the muck and grime of the day can be washed down the drain. Where all the harsh words, power struggles, and fiery fits are forgotten. Where all the things I said I wouldn’t do as a parent, but did anyway, are drowned by bubbly toes and sweet giggles. As I wash away the sand, the old food, the snot, the dirt, I feel my heart lighten because I know they have forgotten.
