Our Process for Developing a Logo

Your Logo should feel like home. It should be a visual representation that symbolizes your brand or product. It should be easy to grasp, instantly recognizable, and true to both the services you provide and the values you uphold. Of course, it should also look great. Logo development is one of our favorite things to do at Maintain – and we have it down to a science.

Deep Dive

Listening. That is our first step. Listening to you – what you love, what you hate, what you’re passionate about, what just really grinds your gears. We listen to the problems you solve with your business. We listen to pain-points. We listen to brands you just love and admire. We listen to YOUR voice and the voice you want your business to have.

Moodboarding

To be honest, a good moodboard is all we live for some days. Moodboards consist of colors, imagery, and copy that tries to encapsulate how your brand should make your audience feel. This helps us, as designers pinpoint a general direction and “feel”. One of our favorite mantras to live by is:
“There is freedom in boundaries”

In other words, working within creative bounds can alleviate a lot of the unknown and stress that can come with any artistic endeavor.

First (and maybe second and third) drafts

And then we go to work – designing, re-designing, re re-designing – until you and your entire team feels confident in the logo and how it will help your business communicate with the world around it.

Logo Finalization

Once your logo is approved and finalized, you will receive all the guides and files you could ever want to use it out in the real world.
